On Saturday 18th October 2014 we had a workshop with Sheffield artist Stephen Coates, held at St Barnabus Centre, Danesmoor. Stephen began with a short presentation on the Science of Art so that he could explain to us why water-colour paint reacts as it does. Following this he led us through the stages of producing a painting with cirrus clouds across it. After our lunch we then produced a painting with sunbeams featured on it, with some storm clouds gathering. We had some really good paintings produced, some of which you can see in our gallery below.
